TEAL & SEAL (under the tarps) SISTER ACT
THE REAL SISTER ACT
TEAL next to the SEAL (under the tarps)
The SEAL was built in 1926, the TEAL in 1927 right next to the SEAL in the SAME SHIPYARD.
The PELICAN built in 1930 in Virginia - first met the already 4 year old SEAL when she escorted the PELICAN on her maiden voyage to Southeast Alaska.
The TEAL and the PELICAN never shared a haul out together and are in no way "sisters" beyond the Designers mark.
The SEAL & TEAL are the Sister Act - and the SEAL is the only unmodified vessel of the two true to her original blueprints and hand drawings from 1926. (beyond a new engine)
The TEAL having sat on the beach abandoned for 12 years, during her restoration structural bulkheads were removed and moved especially in the engineroom area. The Main Salon topside was left with a total of 6 "Odd" doors all opening into the now unpartitioned Main Salon area with 2 More doors with one forward and aft.
Fortunately for the SEAL she has never had any bulkheads moved or removed, and additionally is still 100% traditional pine tar, pitch over oakum caulked clear fir decks topside.
